Serving the Stage Manager Community

Announcements

The Foundation is pleased to announce our spring FY24 grants.

  • Mosesian Center for the Arts (Watertown, MA), to grow the Stage Manager Training program at Watertown Children’s Theatre.​

  • Nicole Lynn Clopton (Manchester, CT) to cover the cost of an Intimacy Training course.

  • Allison Hohman (Astoria, NY) to cover the cost of attending the primary course at the Event Training Academy. 

  • Ryan Pettaway (Tallahassee, FL) to attend the Broadway Stage Management Symposium in NYC.

  • Phoenix Nasiyah Thomas (Munhall, PA) to attend the Broadway Stage Management Symposium in NYC.

Our mission is to support stage managers by providing funds for continuing career education and development, and for public events that enhance stage management skills.  The Foundation awards grants twice per year. The next grant cycle will take place in the fall of 2024.

Our fall FY24 grants

Our fall grants program will open for applications of grants up to $2000.00 on September 1, 2024. Deadline for submission will be September 30, 2024. Grants will be announced no later than November 15, 2024

WHO
WE ARE

The Stage Managers’ Association Foundation (SMAF) supports and promotes the craft and the art of stage management by providing funds for continuing career education and development, for public events that enhance stage management skills, for advocacy, as well as for assisting in the creation of scholarships for early stage management training.

We Fund:

  • Expenses for programs and services

  • Lecture and symposia honorariums for individuals and groups

  • Creation of scholarship funds for higher education and accredited courses in the field of stage management.

  • Community giving
